Sarah is a director/producer born on the oceanside harbors of Busan, South Korea and raised in Los Angeles. She lives in New York and enjoys making films with nature, children, the elderly and themes of death, though not in that order. She received her B.A. for Directing from the UCLA School of Film, TV & Theater and M.F.A. for Media Arts Production in New York at CCNY. She's a recipient of the Motion Pictures of America Association awards, Peter Stark Memorial award, Armed With a Camera Fellowship, NYWIFT scholarship award among others. She is always interested in watching good films, which naturally lead her to work with film festivals. She has previously worked as a screener in the programming committee for AFI (American Film Institute) film festival, Sundance NHK award and Sundance documentary fund, program coordinator for the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival as well as the Korean American Film Festival New York. She's currently producing the feature film, 'I Was a Simple Man' which has been supported by the Sundance Institute through the Screenwriting lab, Directing lab and Producing summit, as well as IFP Week. Films she has produced have screened at Rotterdam, Tribeca, LAAPFF and many more. She hopes to continue to make bold, interesting works and collaborate with artists to create a better, more diverse and peaceful world.
